This journal is published three times a year and includes research papers on all aspects of children's literature, childhood and books for children. It also features news items of interest to scholars and practitioners in the field and reviews of recent publications in children's literature. This journal aims to publish original work in the areas of reading, writing and literacy, their nature, development and teaching. We take a broad view of these areas and welcome submissions on topics ranging from empirical research into reading and writing processes and practices, to commentaries on the issues involved in encouraging and developing reading and writing. We also welcome shorter reports of work in progress.
